Provincial Parent-Friendly Report Card Initiative [11.01.12]

In September 2010, Premier Greg Selinger announced the introduction of a parent-friendly report card to ensure that parents get the information they need to be full partners in their children's education. The new report card is written in plain language, allowing teachers to enrich the reporting with personalized information about each student. The provincial report card will help to enhance the quality of education in Manitoba and to build strong partnerships amongst students, teachers and parents.

The 2012-13 school year is a voluntary implementation year for school divisions. Mandatory implementation for school divisions begins in the 2013-14 school year.

Message From the Superintendent - Neil Finch
[09.05.12]

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year. The Turtle Mountain School Division is excited to be entering into another school year. This year we will begin working towards our strategic plan that was set out by various stakeholders during the 2011/12 school year.  Each of our schools will develop school plans which will align with the priorities set out in the four-year strategic plan.  Schools will be employing a number of different strategies and approaches as they work to improve the learning outcomes for all of our students.

To the community and parents, we invite you to take an active role in your child’s education.  Our students will be successful with your support.  As a school community we can create a positive learning experience where all students will learn in an environment that begins in the home, continues in the school and is supported by the community.

To our students, we will focus our efforts on ensuring you are successful in your learning environment.  We will continue to build your toolkit by providing an education that will prepare you for a world that is changing at a rapid pace.  Please continue to reach for the highest of standards as you push yourself to be the best you can be in all areas of life.

I encourage you to navigate through our website to learn more about the innovative and exciting work that is being done in the schools within Turtle Mountain School Division.

If you have questions regarding any of the exciting learning opportunities available in the Turtle Mountain School Division, please contact us.  We will be pleased to provide you with more information.
